Why apply to Dak’Art?
More than just an exhibition, the Dakar Biennale is a strategic platform designed to:
- Promote African visual artists on the global stage.
- Connect professionals, curators, and collectors from all five continents.
- Celebrate contemporary African thought and creativity in a prestigious setting.
Who can apply?
The official international exhibition is open exclusively to African artists and artists of the African diaspora.
Note: Galleries and collectives can also propose "Special Projects" or fringe events (the famous "Off") in partnership with the General Secretariat.
📂 Your Application Checklist
Please note: Any incomplete application will be automatically rejected. Your file must include:
- Official Application Form (duly completed).
- Concept Note describing your proposed project or artworks.
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Biography (20 to 25 lines) in both French AND English.
- Two recent ID photos (high resolution, white background).
- Passport Copy (valid until at least June 30, 2027).
- 5 HD Reproductions of your works (recent, created after January 2025).
- Detailed Technical Sheet for each work (title, size, weight, materials, insurance value, etc.).
- Portfolio (press articles, critical reviews, or expert testimonials).
- Letter of Commitment regarding shipping deadlines and logistics.
🏆 Awards & Recognition
Selected artists will compete for prestigious awards presented during the opening ceremony:
- The Grand Prix « Léopold Sédar Senghor »: The highest distinction, sponsored by the President of Senegal.
- The Revelation Prize: For young talents under 35.
